(fun treats your rats will love)

Mm mm, Do I smell something good?
I think so!

This page is dedicated to Nummy treats just for your rats (some people will even eat these and other animals enjoy them too!)
I will be posting ALOT of ideas on here for those that like to give your lil buddies a special treat. Every new treat I try or find I will put on this page. ^_^

I'll post pictures of all the food after I get done compiling the mass and the next time I make these things (which is all the time hehe)

Spinach Salad!
This recipe can serve a big portion to each rat.
I usually have about 60 rats around here (babies, Rescues, breeders so on)
and EVERY rat gets a big portion of this stuff. So you may need to adjust amounts to fit your needs for your rats.

1 small bag of frozen Spinach warmed (or 4-5 cups of fresh Spinach)
1/2 cups dried parsley crushed up
2 cups chopped Parsley fresh
2 cups chopped Cilantro fresh
3 cups chopped (or diced or torn what ever you wanna do to it) Romaine Lettuce
Shreds of Carrots (not much just enough to look good), and a few peas (about half a can)
and a 2 handfuls of chopped alfalfa sprouts.

Mix in a Bowl and either Chill or serve fresh.

Pasta! Yum!
This treat is a good one chilled or hot! (ok not HOT but luke warm so as not to burn the ratties)

1 small box Rototini Noodles & Elbow Macaroni
1/2 cup dried Parsley
1/2 cup Fresh Chopped Parsley
1/2 cup warmed spinach (from Frozen bag, or 1 cup fresh Spinach chopped)
2 Teaspoons Garlic and Onion Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Parmesan Cheese

Cook Noodles until Done, drain, then Mix everything in and serve.

Chicken Banana Bash!

2 Chopped Cooked Chicken Breast
(cooked however you like, in this instance lets just say cooked with a pinch of Garlic powder and Rosemary)
2 Diced Bananas
4-5 BIG sliced Strawberries
1 diced Apple (whatever you like)
1 bag of salad of your choosings

Mix All ingredients together and serve chilled.
My rats go crazy for this every time they get it. And I enjoy it for lunch too.

Simple treats

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches
We take two pieces of bread, and spread a THIN layer of Peanut Butter on one and Jelly on the other (sometimes we add butter) put them together then cut them into lil rat sized sandwiches. For fun we occasionally add bananas, occasionally we have it on toast rather then just bread.

Any waffle mix works, for added numiness add Bananas or apples, blueberries, or any fruit and cinnamon. add a drop of syrup per square and cut up for your ratties and serve.
Pancakes work much the same too!

Store Bought Treats and Goodies
Here are some nummy goodness you can buy at the stores for your furry lil friends.

All Though the rats do not need these things it is a good treat given MODERATELY, we rarely give ours store bought treats as they are not healthy for them, and could link to unwanted health problems, but moderately it will not hurt your furry friends.

We're starting with the Treat Ka-bob because not only can you buy chewy things to put on there, but you can also put your own fresh fruits and veggies on them and hang them up for your rats. Rats don't NEED the minerals and everything that is in these listed below, it's just a good treat. Like we don't NEED ice cream, but we like them.

Seeded Pet Treats
These are more of those they don't NEED treats, but they are good for a treat every so often. Rats are Omnivores and these seeds help to ensure they get what they need, and stimulate activity so they don't get bored.

They love these lil boxed treats ALOT!

Ahh Shred a Bowls, gotta love these nifty lil things!
Cheaper to buy then to make your own too. Just make sure there are no bugs in them before you buy them (that being said for the open image)

Miscellaneous treats. All good in small quantities.
